Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Workday Technical Manager , supporting product management within the Corporate Business Technology (CBT) organization by providing thought leadership and technical domain expertise in Workday and related technologies.

This role will be located in New Brunswick, NJ or Tampa, FL and is eligible for participation in J&J’s Hybrid Flex Work program. Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company, with an expectation of regular travel to an office hub.

Key focus areas for this role are technical analysis, Integrations, Extend, supplemental tools for testing, and process automation. Immediate initiatives involving this role include process and tool enhancements to elevate our technical knowledge management and analysis capabilities as well as involvement in strategic efforts to modernize HR’s technical infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise in Workday to business teams, internal and external configuration teams, developers, testing teams, compliance, and other project members.
  • Perform analytical support and technical analysis of requirements to generate solution specifications.
  • Offer Workday domain expertise to support and develop resources across the Workday Squad.
  • Identify areas for process improvements in the HR domain and actively participate in continuous process improvement activities.
  • Research future software releases for ongoing process improvement and innovation.
  • Lead the resolution of cross-functional and cross-platform issues, tradeoffs, and risks in alignment with enterprise, squad, and program objectives.
  • Collaborate with teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions.
  • Work with a team of developers and software engineers to support and develop integrations to downstream systems and data repositories.
  • Stay informed about current technology trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, and actively participate in internal and external technology communities.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to explore internal software solutions that enhance efficiency and enable more resilient code as infrastructure.
  • Manage, grow, and maintain vendor relationships to ensure effective communication and execution for innovation opportunities, upgrades, and support.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Workday integration experience
  • Deep experience related to Workday core HCM configuration and advanced integrations (e.g., EIB, PECI/PICOFF/Studio - XSL, XSLT, XPath, BIRT) and Workday Extend with a demonstrable understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Experience in architecting, estimating, solutioning, building, and testing Workday functionality 
  • Experience with Product Management concepts and processes, Scrum, and an Agile Development environment 
  • Experience with Agile methods; working within a product backlog/release plan, tracking team-level metrics, attending product team ceremonies, and resolving blockers, etc.
  • Proven success participating in multi-functional, self-organized teams
  • Proven effectiveness at leading, aligning, and collaborating across organizational boundaries (e.g., project teams, functions, and partner organizations) without direct authority
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate while navigating diverse perspectives
  • Superb communication skills, both written and oral, with strong storytelling and presentation capabilities

Preferred:

  • Experience leading Workday Integration workstreams and Extend deployment through full lifecycle implementations 
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Webmethods, Informatica On-Premise and Cloud, SharePoint, Visio, RPA tools, PowerApps, and Testing Automation tools
  • Experience integrating with Data Repositories/Warehouses, Payroll and Benefits Systems, and Learning and Development Systems is preferred.
  • Values and understands the importance of documentation and knowledge management.
  • Intellectually curious, excited by new and changing technology, and actively seeking ways to innovate and optimize our landscape
  • Highly accountable and proficient in achieving objectives.
  • Experience working with off-shore and on-shore development teams and fostering collaboration across time zones and regions 

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $97,000 to $166,000.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

- Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

- Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
