THE OPPORTUNITY
At the core of the Surgical Vision’s business is our team of sales & product advocates; they partner closely with eye-care health professionals to improve lives of patients every day.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Territory Manager to join the Victoria Sales team. You will be looking after both public and private hospitals + specialist day surgeries predominantly across Melbourne Metro and surrounding suburbs, with some rural travel required to a small number of regional accounts.
You will be responsible for the successful performance of the territory through effective business planning, building strong long-term partnerships with eye care health specialists and driving sales for our range of Intra Ocular Lenses and Phacoemulsification Machines and Accessories.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a consultant and be the most value cataract partner to customers, educating stakeholders on use of TECNIS IOLs, J&J Phaco systems and OVD in line with patient needs
- Achieve annual and quarterly sales objectives, using clinical knowledge, professional selling skills and efficient time and territory management practices, consistent with business priorities. Implementing corrective actions as required to address potential challenges.
- Be the product expert and demonstrate proper surgical use of our products to eye health care professionals to best meet customer needs
- Handle customer product questions and objections in a way that is consistent with sales training methodology
- Maintain and expand current accounts and identify opportunities to build new accounts whilst execute the selling cycle in a manner that is concise, professional, ethical and persuasive; and which leads the customer to action
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends, recommending solutions and implementing corrective actions based on customer knowledge and marketing data
- Partner with Marketing, Professional Education and Specialists to progress commercial and KOL plans with target customers
- Maintain a high level of surgical and industry knowledge as relevant to the role
- Appropriate use of Salesforce CRM including planning / management of opportunities, tracking performance, maintained accurate customer details and other needs in line with Commercial Excellence guidance.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification within Business/Health Sciences or related fields
- 3+ years in medical device or ophthalmology sales experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence different stakeholders and build long-term relationships
- Keen interest in Ophthalmology; motivated and have the desire to grow the business and market share
- Demonstrates a track record of strong commercial achievementsAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team with self-discipline and strong organisation skills
- A positive and can-do attitude to achieving results in a tactful manner
- A valid driver’s license with capability to work in a field based role.
