Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Location: Office Based, 41470 Neuss

Job Description

As a Senior Financial Analyst you will be the finance business partner to certain business functions in Janssen Germany and manage their operating expenditures and sales forecasting. Besides, you will support the actuals analysis, planning and forecasting processes for the operating company and contribute to continuous process improvements and finance transformation program, delivering compliant financial statements and managing risk. 

In parallel, you will actively participate in regional EMEA finance projects or workstreams to help shape the finance function for the future.

As a key member of the Janssen Germany Business Unit finance team, you will contribute to an engaging, collaborative, mindful team and support in the delivery of the BU Finance vision to the Janssen Germany Operating Company. By working as One Finance Team with FP&A and Global Services, you will ensure accurate and timely recording of all actuals, Business Plan and forecast updates. 

You will report to the Senior Finance Manager Germany

Responsibilities:

  • You are the finance partner to other business functions in the Janssen Germany Operating Company. While managing operating expenditures and Sales Forecasting, you provide business rationale, make recommendations for resource allocation decisions with short- and long-term focus and influence outcome using fact-based data.

  • You support the local Controlling team in the implementation of the global finance transformation program

  • You contribute to the continuous improvement of our finance processes by identifying efficiency opportunities and participating in their implementation.

  • You are responsible for the assigned elements of the business plan and apply business knowledge to challenge business partners on assumptions.

  • Manage projects through collaboration with relevant stakeholders across multiple functions

  • You support in driving the digital agenda and be an active part in shaping the future of the finance function.

  • You maintain the highest compliance standards while processing day-to-day tasks and assigned monthly/quarterly journal entries, accounting controls and reconciliations.

Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience with strong finance, accounting, and business acumen

  • Preferable but not required Finance Master's degree in Economics or Finance

  • Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Industry would be an advantage but not necessary

  • Passionate about understanding underlying business processes

  • Project experience in finance transformation processes – including digitalization – would be an advantage

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to details

  • Strong collaboration, influencing, communication skills with a strategic mindset

  • Action oriented and able to work to tight deadlines

  • A team player with a positive, can do attitude and agility to flex multiple work streams fluidly

  • Fluency in English (both oral & written) is a must, German skills would be an advantage

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (required).
