Janssen Biotherapeutics (JBIO) in Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a division of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies is recruiting a Co-Op to focus on Process Analytical Technology (PAT) supporting our locations in Malvern and Spring House, PA.
Janssen Research & Development, LLC discovers and develops creative large molecule solutions to address important unmet medical needs in oncology, immunology, neuroscience, infectious diseases and vaccines, and cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. PAT is a necessity for the transition to real-time release (RTR) and continuous bio-manufacturing in the future, enabling rapid data collection and analysis for key process parameters with the goal of bioprocess understanding & optimization. The technology integrates a broad spectrum of sensors, spectrometers, automation and multivariate data analysis.
We are seeking a highly motivated co-op student to supply to evaluating our diverse technologies facilitating our pipeline to support clinical studies. This is an excellent opportunity to apply science and engineering to sophisticated analytics in PAT.
In this role, you will:
- Work as part of a distributed team but primarily responsible for assessing and developing PAT methods supporting biotherapeutics development with accuracy and robustness.
- Develop and or optimize a detailed framework to implement appropriate analytical technologies and methods for various bio-reaction desirable levels.
- Learn new skills and interacting with a global workforce and culture.
- Gain experience and understanding of the biologic’s development process at the same time building the future for how we apply PAT tools to pave the way toward the next generation of digital bio-manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Working toward B.S. or graduate degree in a core science, biochemistry, biotechnology, bioengineering or a related disciplining is required
- Appropriate education and training in operation of spectroscopic instruments such as Raman, (N)IR spectrometer and biological analysis. Spectroscopic interpretation and evaluation is preferred.
- Experience in chemometric modeling tools MATLAB, Unscrambler or SIMCA for multivariate data analysis. Proficiency with one or more programming language such as Matlab, Python or R for machine and deep learning is required.
- Proven written and oral communication skills a must.
- Candidates must be motivated, highly organized, and able to lead multiple tasks.
- Candidates must have the ability to work individually (independently) as well as on a team.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Candidate must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s and/or MBA
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required
- Completion of Undergraduate Freshmen year at accredited University is required
