Role Purpose

Supports the achievement of accelerated broad market and patient access and funding for our key brands by leveraging health economic knowledge and techniques to assist in the delivery of customer value and achievement of MAST and IBT objectives.

Provides analytical support to ensure robust, credible, high quality health economic evidence is delivered to national and local payers, in a timely fashion.

Key Role Activities

Generate HE Evidence

Provide support to adapt models and studies which meet evidence gaps to create positive and compelling commercial opportunities.

Review, critique and  adapt global/EMEA  economic  models(budget  impact  &  cost-effectiveness  models), value  dossiers,  systematic  literature  reviews  and to  the Irish business needs with oversight from their manager.

Source  Irish specific  epidemiology,  resource  use  and  cost  data  through  literature searches and questionnaires to adapt the CEMs & BIMs to the Irish setting.

Actively   engage   with   healthcare   professionals   to   develop   a   deep   therapy   area understanding and awareness of unmet patient needs to deliver submissions that reflect the clinical setting in Ireland.

MAST and IBT

Leverage health economic knowledge and techniques to help achieve MAST objectives.

Collaborate with medical and commercial functions within the brand team and provide input from a HEMAR perspective to support brand objectives and to ensure the free flow of information and ideas.

Provide support to deliver technical solutions to the MAST, including customer focused health economic tools (e.g., business case).

HTA Strategy & Submissions

Support Market Access Manager with the development and implementation of  the market  access  strategy/  function  to  achieve  rapid  and  sustained  patient  and  market access for our medicines

Leads and has ownership of rapid review submissions to national and local health technology assessment organizations,  such  as NCPE with  oversight  from  the Market Access Manager responsible for the brand.

Present to HTA body at pre-submission meeting.

Assist with the development and delivery of high-quality HTA submissions to national and local health technology assessment organizations, such as NCPE, under the supervision of the Market Access Manager

Responsible for the submission of price applications to the HSE for new drugs and new formulations, management of the pricing database and annual realignment submissions in conjunction with the Market Access Manager.

Project Management

Support the project management of external agencies in developing health economic models, tools, and publications to support the business needs.

Project manage delivery of own work streams ensuring high quality projects are delivered on time.

Technical Knowledge

Review literature refer to websites, and subscribe to email alerts, attend conferences, courses and discuss developments with colleagues, to keep up to date on the latest health economic methodologies and HTA policies.

Keep abreast of changes in the health system and understand implications for allocated products.

Contribute to the development and provision of targeted health economic training programs for internal colleagues.

Other

Support Market Access Manager to shape a market access environment aligned to the principles of value-based healthcare through stakeholder engagement and to ensure the value of innovative medicines is recognized. 

Represent Ireland on the European Functional Networks.

Answer requests from health care professionals, HTA body, payers, members of the public and internal customers concerning health economic data associated with all products marketed by Janssen with oversight from their manager.

Contribute to overall business unit strategy and planning, by supporting and feeding intelligence from all activities above into MASTs and IBTs, marketing strategy meetings and business and strategic planning process.

Qualifications

Essential Technical Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Understanding of the science of health economics, including statistical analysis, systematic literature review, network meta-analysis, health economic modeling and budget impact modeling.
  • Ability to critically analyze clinical and economic data.

2 years of experience in Health Economics and Market Access.
