Governmental Affairs and Policy (GA&P) Director

Location.: Warsaw, Poland

Full time contract 

The role of the Governmental Affairs and Policy Director has the overall responsibility for all GA&P related activities across Poland with the main goal of fostering a Janssen representing approach also in alignment of the overarching J&J strategy and priorities.
This role will act as the companies spoke person representing Janssen in the political and policy arena in Poland and beyond.
This role will facilitate connections between internal and external stakeholders and build collaborative and interactive relationships with government departments and agencies, industry, and trade associations, as well as with care professionals (HCPs) and patient advocacy groups.
The Director of GA&P will develop effective relationships with the Janssen Poland business leadership but also with the business leadership of J&J MedTech presenting the adequate J&J position.
This role will interact with colleagues and leaders across other functional areas, including commercial, communications, market access and pricing, medical affairs, legal, regulatory and others.

The Director of GA&P, Poland will serve as active member on the Janssen Poland Leadership Team.

The responsibilities & the impact YOU will have:

  • Ensure Government Affairs & Policy shaping of the external environment in alignment with the overall company strategy.
  • Monitors environment to identify political/economic trends and events, analyzes upcoming political changes.
  • Translates business needs into the top GA&P priorities, leads the strategy and its execution in Poland via implementing an integrated plan of policy actions, including stakeholder intelligence and engagement plan.
  • Represents Janssen in the respective pharma/industry associations and contributes towards the lobbying on priority issues for Janssen within the various associations, e.g. INFARMA working groups
  • Will build and enhance Janssen’s network across the political/government, trade associations and policymaking spectrum, to support and advance the interests of Janssen in Poland and establish Janssen as trusted partner.
  • Will further strengthen the collaboration with internal functions such as Market Access & Pricing, communications, legal, medical affairs, Patient Affairs, and other Janssen experts.
  • As a member of the Janssen Poland Leadership Team will contribute beyond the functional interests to the company and business strategy.

We would love to hear from YOU, if you have:

·       Substantial track record (*5 years) of successful government/policy making/business experience

·       Experience in health care industry

·       Senior leadership and management experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environment

·       In-depth knowledge and experience of the Polish government and policy making space, especially with regards to pharmaceutical policy challenges and opportunities 

·       Comprehensive network of contracts in the relevant Polish ministries and agencies, industry, and trade associations

·       Reliable contacts with healthcare providers

·       Knowledge and understanding of the political and trade association landscape and a network of relevant stakeholder contracts in Poland
