Pharm Transcend is a global business transformation program that will modernize our foundational transactional processes and harmonize them into one “clean” ERP as a standardized platform for growth and efficiency gains.
The program will simplify the Pharm ERP landscape from 7 to 1, standardizing processes in order to have a cost effective, fit for purpose digital backbone that will enable us to support the Pharm business with agility. Additionally, the program will remediate the end-of-life system exposure that we risk towards the end of this decade.
The Tax Manager is part of the Global Tax Technology organization and will be dedicated to the Pharm Transcend program. The Tax manager will be supporting the design and implementation activities of the future state Direct and Indirect Tax process of the pharm supply chain, the SAP S4 system design and implementation and the global Vertex design and implementation for NA and global template. As a part of the role, the candidate will cooperate across various workstreams, such as deliver, finance, IT to support smooth implementation of the respective processes and implementation of requirements.
Responsibilities
- Cooperate with tax planning and other tax functions to understand the physical and financial flows
- Gather requirements and create business user stories in cooperation with business and tax technology partners, for both direct and indirect tax
- Support the translation of requirements into system design executed by external consultant, in line with global template
- Create test scenarios and manage test execution and organize sign off for all tax relevant scenarios
- Support the configuration of Vertex application in line with pharm business requirements
- Support additional tax relevant requirements such as e-invoicing and profit in inventory eliminations processes
- Collaborate with Transcend Finance, TranSCend functional teams and Global tax departments to capture and define design requirements for all supply chain related direct and indirect Tax processes, with a focus on, but not limited to, indirect tax/Vertex, transfer pricing, tax planning and support of profit in inventory elimination and e-digital reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with other TranSCend programs to implement a global, standardized template and leverage business user stories, design, and admin processes.
- Cooperate with external consultants for design, build and implementation of requirements and sign off
- Perform pre-design workshops with business stakeholders.
- Translate workshop outcomes to future process design for Tax (KDD refinement and User Story creation) in cooperation with external consultant
- Define future solution for Tax processes in collaboration with the respective key stakeholders (Principal Companies, Operating Companies,…) & Transcend team
- Collaborate with Finance & Tax JJT team in designing future Tax management.
- Document future design as part of Global Template build
- Support external consultant and JJT Teams in building the proposed design in S4/Hana
- Lead BST and UAT testing of Tax processes within Principal Companies & Operating Companies
- Coordination of Data Validation & UAT testing with Business SME’s
- Support Principal Company & Operating Company Teams during hypercare period
- Carry out any other duties related to the given scope of practice in support of the team primary activities and objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree, preferably in Finance, Tax, Supply Chain, other related field
- Must have at least 5 years of related experience
- Experience within Tax environment is a must
- Experience with process development and improvement is preferred
- Experience with certain technologies such as SAP, OTP, Vertex is preferred
- Strong analytic skills and ability to balance big picture with attention to detail is preferred
- Passionate to develop expertise in complex tax related topics is preferred
- Agile sand global mindset is a must
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly articulate complex issues
- Team player and collaborative working style
- Knowledge of direct and/or indirect tax
- Project management experience is a plus
- Knowledge of ERP platforms such as SAP and tax technology tools such as Vertex/OTP is a plus
- Experience managing direct reports
- Experience with working in global / virtual environments is a plus.
- Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally
The base pay range for this position is $97,000 - $166,750
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
