Janssen Research & Development, LLC., a member of Johnson and Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Associate Scientist, Oligonucleotide Biology - RNA, Gene Therapy, and Delivery, located in our San Francisco Bay campus in Brisbane, CA.

We are seeking an accomplished and curious Associate Scientist to join our Oligonucleotide Biology team in the discovery of targeted oligonucleotide therapeutics. At our San Francisco Bay Campus in Brisbane, the Associate Scientist will help develop and implement diverse in vivo and in vitro assays, while collaborating with highly motivated teams to optimize siRNA/mRNA therapeutics. A strong candidate will have expertise in in vivo and ex vivo techniques, cell-based assays, and excellent interpersonal talents.

Key Responsibilities:

You will work closely with senior scientists on the team to identify, develop, and complete in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro assays to advance our understanding of nucleic acid therapeutics and targeted delivery methods.

This position will require an ability to learn and apply new technologies and techniques to make discoveries that promote the development of improved oligonucleotide therapeutics. You will have the opportunity to analyze complex datasets and communicate results to project teams and colleagues, in collaboration with diverse therapeutic areas, including Retinal Disease, Cardiovascular & Metabolic Disease, Infectious Disease, Neuroscience, and Oncology.

Qualifications

  • A M.S. with a minimum of 1 year experience or a B.S./B.A. with a minimum of 2 years of experience is required
  • Broad experience with in vivo/ex vivo methods, assay technologies (flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, Luminex), and data reporting (ELN, Prism, Spotfire) is strongly preferred
  • Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and dedication to collaboration with internal and external project teams is required

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $81,000 - $129,605.
