We believe in the power of automation and carefully applied AI/ML to solve problems that are beyond what the unaided human mind can tackle on its own. In the first phase of our development, we are using our map of odor along with cutting-edge generative AI to create the next generation of aroma molecules (e.g., the ingredients in the fragrances we wear and the products we use). Beyond fragrance machine olfaction has application across many industries, including manufacturing, military, medicine, and more. Working for Osmo means solving problems using digital olfaction for these customers. We're a hybrid company with our headquarters in New York, NY, a new facility under construction in central New Jersey, and offices in Somerville, MA.
Osmo is seeking a visionary Director of Fragrance Sales to lead our sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and build strong partnerships with brands. The Sales Director will be responsible for developing and executing our sales strategy to position Osmo as a leader to the 60,000+ emerging, insurgent and challenger brands. You will work closely with marketing, platform and product teams to drive growth across digital and offline channels. A critical aspect of this role is the development and scaling of emerging fragrance brands, ensuring they achieve market recognition and commercial success. This role requires an “out of the box” mindset able to leverage Osmo’s unique market position as a leader in technology, science, and fragrance.
Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution
Lead strategic commercial negotiation - from core listing, annual pricing, payment terms, rebates/cost savings, supply agreements
Maximize Osmo's advantage to drive sales “wedges” - Leveraging Osmo’s world class AI tools, like Inspire; low MOQ requirements; and formulation optimization platform for pricing regulations and end use application
Ensure full deployment of Osmo capabilities to deliver product superiority and differentiation
Identify and prioritize key markets, sales channels, and opportunities for growth
Collaborate with leadership to align sales goals with the company’s broader objectives

Channel Development & Emerging Brand Development
Identify “hacks” to volume growth, by partnering with pan e-commerce platforms, like Shopify and WooCommerce
Establish and manage relationships with other traditional key retail and wholesale partners
Lead the go-to-market strategy for emerging fragrance brands in our portfolio, ensuring successful product launches
Partner with marketing and product teams to craft compelling brand stories that resonate with target audiences
Build tailored sales strategies to grow brand recognition and revenue for emerging brands
Foster relationships with niche markets, influencers, and specialty retailers to amplify emerging brand presence
Monitor performance metrics for emerging brands and adapt strategies to maximize impact

Team Leadership
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team as the business grows
Set clear objectives and provide regular feedback to ensure team success
Required Qualifications
Proven track record in sales leadership, preferably within the luxury goods, beauty, or fragrance industries
Experience driving growth in digital-first environments, including e-commerce expertise
Strong network within the fragrance, beauty and lifestyle sectors
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends
Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for innovation and brand-building
Experience in successfully scaling emerging or niche brands in competitive markets
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
Ability to work from Osmo's New York or New Jersey location with the flexibility to work from other Osmo sites or travel to clients as required.
Preferred Skills
Experience with subscription models or DTC (direct-to-consumer) strategies
Knowledge of sustainable and ethical business practices in the beauty industry
Multilingual abilities and international sales experience
