ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril’s Space Manufacturing team is seeking a Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, Space to lead our efforts in rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge space systems. The Manufacturing Team is responsible for the entire manufacturing value-chain, including flight vehicles, payloads, test fixtures, ground support equipment, and production lines. This role will require managing a talented team, overseeing large-scale projects, and driving the growth of our space program. The ideal candidate will have a track record of holistic ownership in solving complex technical challenges, demonstrating both creative and practical approaches to manufacturing in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians focused on the manufacturing, integration, and testing of Anduril’s space products.
  • Oversee and drive system-level design and testing procedures for large-scale projects.
  • Provide guidance on Design for Manufacturability and assembly feedback to improve processes.
  • Develop and implement novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly, ensuring scalability.
  • Lead the integration of Anduril payloads onto satellites and launch vehicles, ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Write and oversee documentation required for successful manufacturing at scale, including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements.
  • Evaluate and disposition nonconformances of flight hardware, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Iterate on assembly processes incorporating lessons learned, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturers and bus providers to develop repeatable processes for quick-turn development and sustained production.
  • Engage hands-on with technicians and engineers in building prototype hardware, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Contribute to customer-facing hardware mechanical or electrical design, including interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection.
  • Coordinate travel to partner sites for final integration, qualification, and acceptance testing, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Drive the vision and strategy for growing Anduril's space program, identifying new opportunities and areas for innovation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in a technical field preferred such as engineering, math, or a hard science.
  • At least 8+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably space manufacturing, systems engineering, or design of electromechanical hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Proven team leadership skills, with examples of successfully managing and developing a diverse team.
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware through various methods (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.). Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, Manufacturing Execution systems, and ERP/MRP systems.
  • A genuine interest in manufacturing and a thirst for learning, particularly in the space domain.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in test hardware and software development.
  • Background in integration and testing of avionics, payloads, solar, propulsion, ADCS, or other space hardware.
  • Software scripting experience in any language.
  • Experience writing test plans, procedures, and work instruction documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in space manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated skill at driving and questioning design and customer requirements.
US Salary Range
$170,000$230,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
