About the role

We are looking for an experienced and scrappy public affairs manager to join our fast-growing Government team. As a member of Applied’s government communications team, you will support Applied’s business development and public policy goals by driving brand awareness, planning communications campaigns, and building strategic partnerships.

At Applied, you will:

  • Operate proactively as a trusted and experienced communications and external affairs expert, especially to government audiences such as Department of Defense officials and legislative staffers who cover technology and national security policies
  • Develop and implement targeted communications strategies to shape conversations around defense autonomy
  • Build and foster strategic relationships with external organizations to help Applied Intuition advance its business and policy objectives
  • Collaborate with communications, marketing, and government affairs teams to develop compelling copy for use across multiple channels
  • Develop and share analysis of relevant metrics to assess communications activities and strategic partnerships in support of Applied Intuition’s government strategy
  • Demonstrate extraordinary attention to detail and enjoy managing communications processes end-to-end to deliver timely content

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 5+ years of experience in the end-to-end planning and execution of successful communications campaigns that include public speaking engagements, special events, government affairs, and work with print, digital, and television media
  • A successful track record of drafting and landing op-eds and thought-leadership articles
  • In-depth knowledge of policy issues related to defense technology, especially autonomy
  • Passion for building a deep understanding of the applications for autonomy in national security

Nice to have:

  • Experience with autonomy, artificial intelligence (AI), and related technologies and their applications to national security
  • Bachelors and/or Masters in a communications, journalism, or related field
