About the role

We are looking for a senior engineer with expertise in simulation of electromagnetic and radar systems. This role will focus on the development and validation of radar models in our simulated environments across automotive and aerial domains (including synthetic aperture radar). At Applied Intuition, we encourage all engineers to take ownership over technical and product decisions, closely interact with users to collect feedback, and contribute to a thoughtful, dynamic team culture.

At Applied Intuition, you will:

  • Design and implement core components of our simulation engine pertaining to radar & RF sensors, electromagnetic and signal processing models
  • Drive efforts to validate underlying sensor models across operational design domains
  • Work with the top sensor and autonomy companies in automotive, defense, and robotics industries to understand and solve unique challenges in simulation-based perception development

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience with modeling the signal processing and system level components of radar systems
  • Experience with radar system design for automotive and non-automotive applications (automotive radars, synthetic aperture radar, point-to-point RF)
  • Experience working in a simulation environment utilizing geometric and physical optics principles
  • Experience working in Python and C++
  • 4+ years of industry experience

Nice to have:

  • Experience with radar systems across diverse design domains (on-road, off-road, aerial)
  • Hands-on experience with characterization and validation of radar systems in lab and field environments
  • Comfortable with performing data analysis of raw sensor data
  • Experience with working with GPU accelerated processing
  • Experience with modern computer graphics pipelines and engines

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $222,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company's compensation practices.
