Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Senior Tax Analyst (STA) Med Tech Tax Planning as part of the global MD tax planning group.   The candidate’s work location will be in New Brunswick NJ and the position will incorporate the J&J Flex Hybrid Work Model and may require up to 10% travel (Domestic/International).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of global J&J Vision legal entities, business model and strategies.
  • Monitor, and adjust pricing guidance (ICP) and sector operating policies in close collaboration with Supply Chain Finance, OUS Country Tax Centers and Global Transfer Pricing (GTP).
  • Provide support and oversight for sustainable tax and transfer pricing strategies for the J&J Vision business projects and documentation.
  • Implement tax strategies including direct and indirect taxes to complement the J&J Vision businesses and marketing strategies.
  • Advise internal clients (including R&D, Commercial, Supply Chain and Finance) of tax implications related to business strategies.
  • Maintain, support, and enhance business relevant ETR analytics process collaborating closely with Vision Finance and Tax Operations (US & OUS).
  • Demonstrate ability to balance and prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Support CFIN and Anaplan technology implementation.
  • Closely collaborate with multiple functions including MD sector tax planning, regional tax planning, and the country tax centers while building trusting relationships.
  • Support internal and external audits as they relate to global J&J Vision tax and transfer pricing matters.
  • Provide ad hoc tax support in broader Business Development areas for J&J Vision and the related J&J Vision platforms and/or Enterprise projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree with a preference in Tax, Accounting or Economics is required.  
  • Advanced certifications or degrees such as MBA and/or CPA, CMA, CFA is preferred.
  • Big 4 Public Accounting or multinational corporate experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience with general accounting/financial and tax processes & principles or related business experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of US tax law and indirect tax concepts are required.
  • Basic understanding of US International Tax concepts (Transfer Pricing, Subpart F, etc.) is preferred.
  • Excellent business partnering and communication skills and strong influencing and collaboration skills across sectors, functions and regions is required.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to utilize other technology resources is required.
  • Ability to identify, develop and implement various process improvements to facilitate tax reporting and international tax compliance requirements centered on increasing controls and making processes more efficient is required.
  • Ability to execute innovative solutions to meet business needs and to handle risk in a quickly changing external environment is required.
  • Strong project management skills are required.
  • Previous experience with transfer pricing and tax planning modeling is preferred.
  • Exposure to tax accounting issues regarding international operations is preferred.
  • Ability to identify, develop and lead implementation of tax planning opportunities is preferred.
  • The position is based in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and the position will incorporate the J&J Flex Hybrid Work Model and May require up 10% of domestic/international travel.

The base pay range for this position is $73,000 - $117,300

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
