We are actively searching for an outstanding group leader with expertise in automation and cell culture to join our world-class research team. As a key member of our Biologics Discovery organization, you will orchestrate the optimization of our processes and develop state-of-the-art automation platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a world-class team of scientists to implement and operate next-generation automated platforms for cell culture, protein expression, purification, quality control, and screening.
• Develop and validate cutting-edge automated protocols for various protein expression platforms, such as E. coli, CHO, and HEK293 systems.
• Supervise and provide support to cross-functional research teams, guiding our discovery portfolio projects to achieve remarkable scientific breakthroughs.
• Apply sophisticated analytical techniques and tools to evaluate protein expression and purification data, solve technical issues, and optimize experimental protocols.
• Contribute to the construction and optimization of engineered cell lines to enable discovery of the next generation of biologics medicines.
• Prepare and deliver compelling technical reports, data summaries, and presentations to internal stakeholders and esteemed external partners.
• Drive the generation of intellectual property through groundbreaking invention disclosures, patent applications, and influential scientific publications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior scientists and research associates, encouraging a collaborative and innovative scientific environment.

Qualifications

Education :

• Bachelors degree or Masters degree with a minimum of 8 years post-graduation experience, or Ph.D. with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field with a strong focus on cell culture and protein expression is required.

Required:

• Demonstrated expertise in crafting and implementing automated systems including the use of automated liquid handling systems, microfluidics, high-throughput screening platforms, and robotics is required.
• Excellent leadership and project management skills to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive scientific initiatives is required.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present sophisticated scientific concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences is required.

Preferred :

• Experience with engineering CHO/HEK cell line for altering expression level/post translational modification such as glycoengineering is preferred.
• Expertise in HT stable pool generation and cell line development is preferred.
• Knowledge of microfluidics droplet generation and screening is preferred.
• Experience with data analysis software, programming languages (Python, R), and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is preferred.
• Experience with protein engineering of therapeutic proteins such as antibodies and cytokines is preferred.
• Knowledge of plasmid DNA design for optimizing protein expression is preferred.
