Job Description:

· Johnson and Johnson Medical Device is recruiting for a Business Unit Head for Joints Recon, Digital Surgery and Mitek, India and South Asia, located in Mumbai

· Lead the teams to build the Joints Recon, Digital Surgery and Mitek business with a strong growth trajectory

· Develop and implement Go-to-market business model, Digital Transformation, pursue appropriate market growth strategies and drive internal customer centricity. In so doing, advance partnership levels and increases competitive position for Joints Recon, Digital Surgery and Mitek to realize full market potential.

· Plan, develop, and direct all aspects of the business unit based on sales/profitability and other goals and objectives established in conjunction with the next highest level of management. Formulate and communicate overall business objectives, policies, and strategic plans for the Business Unit.

· Ensure effective implementation and execution of policies and plans to direct the growth of the Company and to achieve both long-term and short-range objectives.

· Accountable for leading the overall management of sales and marketing strategies, activities, operations, compliance, and budgets associated with driving sales for the Joints Recon, Digital Surgery and Mitek portfolio.

· Partner with regional teams & JJ Medtech global teams to develop a long-term growth roadmap for India and South Asia, supported by an investment model which drives profitable growth efficiently, effectively, and sustainably.

· Lead cross-functional business teams in setting and achieving goals. Develop & build strong pipeline leadership, bench strength & sales competencies which creates competitive advantage to meet and exceed the company’s short- and long-term objectives.

· Drive value-added & mutually beneficial Customer partnerships and facilitating for JJMI to become preferred partner of choice.

· A customer focused advocate, a change agent in developing a Customer Value Proposition Framework and optimal Professional Education engine & CRM Approach based on strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, category growth opportunities and Professional insights.

· The position reports to Senior Director, DePuy Synthes Franchise and is a member of the Commercial Leadership Team at MedTech, India

· Lead and shape the Professional Landscape through engagement with Industry Groups, Government Agencies, Academia, Professional Associations.

· Credo Based Leadership and inculcates a strong culture of compliance

Key Responsibilities:


· To deliver a better health outcome for Customers and patients. Communicate Vision and direction to larger team and ensure successful execution.

· Deliver Country Profit & Loss Financials, Credo and Our Voice Engagement, Talent Agenda & Compliance.

· Accelerate BU growth, profitability, and market share for existing and potential customers through leadership of Sales functions. Implement business Strategies to achieve business outcomes.

· Champion business development of new channels, new market entries and business model innovations to drive value-added, mutually beneficial partnerships and effectively builds strong customer relationships with key stakeholders.

· Identify both opportunities & business at risk - Conduct regular Business reviews as a basis for challenging and improving both short- and long-term strategies & action plans.

· Lead senior level negotiations optimizing contractual opportunities which cement long term supply arrangements, understand the Government priorities, and develop understanding of to create long term partnerships

· Demonstrates product and procedural knowledge; clinical and procedural excellence, product expertise, and new product introduction experience and understands market and competitive landscape

· Manages and evaluates activities of key customer accounts, negotiates contracts of major customer accounts, and provides guidance to sales team for sales, channel, category management initiatives are executed on plan.

· Liaise with and guide Sales personnel, optimizing sales opportunities across all areas of the business through effective strategy, execution, teamwork, and cooperation.

· Possesses and exhibits vast understanding of the changing market dynamics in healthcare and understands the responsibility and requirements on the organization to continue to compete as viable player which includes market knowledge of Health Economics, industry trends, customer segmentation, customer data knowledge and buying process.

· Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction with franchise through management of relationships, product support and service.

People Management

· Lead development of team members & focus on building areas of strength

· Aid in career development through effective career conversations through the year

· Plan strong succession pipelines for all critical roles

· Create & execute development plans & action plans for all team members


Qualifications - External


Education Background: MBA from a leading tier-1/2 business school in India or overseas

Experience and Skills:

· Experience: Experience in Marketing & Sales preferably in an MNC setup. Prior experience in people management of large teams is essential for this role.

· 10+ years of prior relevant experience in Sales & Marketing – Driving sales across the country or large regions with Manager of Managers Experience, designing business models and launch plans, scale-up experience etc.

· Digital surgery related capital sales experience is preferred.

· Strong healthcare industry knowledge and experience is preferred
