Position Summary

The Director, MedTech Procurement APAC, is overseeing all APAC sourcing, supplier scouting, supplier onboarding and supplier development and management efforts in the context of MedTech’s Grow East and China 2030 strategies.

The Director scope of responsibilities includes specifically:

·       Representing all Procurement across the 3-tier model on the APAC MedTech Supply Chain leadership team if applicable and on the MT China SCLT

·       Orchestrating the efforts of all direct categories on the ground in APAC and China in particular

·       Owning the holistic APAC SC Source business plan and the related long range financial plan for MedTech

·       Managing relationships with APAC based suppliers on behalf of global categories behind the Procurement Supplier Management framework

·       Leading the team of APAC SC Procurement team and being accountable for performance management and career development of team members

·       Being the voice and face of J&J MedTech Procurement to the APAC supplier base and to APAC based business partners, in Supply Chain, Quality, R&D and Commerical.

·       Representing the APAC supplier base and its development in global stragegy development and global governance and stakeholder forums (e.g. Franchise SC type 2 execution)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Required Minimum Education : Bachelors    or Equivalent                                           Other: Master preferred

Required Years of Related Experience:  8+Years                                                 Other: CM, SC or R&D experience welcome

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Uncompromised requirements for the role) :

(Include any required computer skills, certifications, licenses, languages, etc.)

•        Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (e.g. Category Management, Supplier Management, Supply Chain Integration, Business planning, Performance Management).

•        Strong experience in supplier management, on-borading and development, in APAC

•        Strong Customer Orientation (building and maintaining strong relationships with JNJ senior Management).

•        Strong interpersonal leadership, communication, influencing, collaboration, talent development skills are key

•        Strong project and change management capabilities

•        Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information

•        Ability to continuously improve the team and its collaboration internally and externally

•        Strong Business Acumen, MedTech relevant industry experience preferred

•        Multi-country and Multi sector experience preferred

•        Fluency in both, English and Mandarin preferred

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Minimum Education: BA     or Equivalent                                           Other Meng, MSC, MBA is a plus

Preferred Area of Study:  BS/BA in an applicable field of study; advance degree is preferred, MBA is a plus

Preferred Related Industry Experience (if applicable): Experienced professional with business experience in multiple roles across a variety of functional specialties including general management, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain or a Technical field with at least 10+ years within a Procurement environment in a senior position.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

•        High level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, Category Management, Contract development, Procurement Excellence,  etc.)

•        High level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community

•        Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., businesses, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain); has "presence"

•        Proven track record in attracting and developing talent

•        Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and executing significant influencing roles.

•        Significant business acumen and proven team building skills

•       Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment, while ensuring the organization is able to effectively and efficiently move through transitions

•       Experience to work across regions and understand markets in particular in Asia is preferred. Chinese language at intermediate level as a minimum.
