Structural & Protein Science within Discovery Technology and Molecular Pharmacology (DTMP) organization is seeking an outstanding leader to lead a high performing team to drive structure-based design across small molecules and peptides portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership in the use of advanced structural biology tools to accelerate structural insights to enable design and optimization of therapeutics. The candidate will have demonstrated experience to manage external partnerships and represent their organizations at cross-industry consortia. Ideal candidate will have project leadership and portfolio management experience and would have contributed to design of molecules that have led to clinical candidates. In addition, demonstrated ability to work seamlessly with cross functional partners within In -silico Discovery, IT, Data Sciences and Therapeutic areas.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

·        Lead a team of X-ray Crystallographers and Hydrogen Deuterium Mass spectroscopists to develop industry leading strategies to enable structure-based design & differentiation of molecules to advance the drug discovery portfolio

·        Utilize their deep expertise to design strategies to accelerate structural insights to drive drug discovery programs

·        Responsible for managing structural biology resources and partner with protein science leads to deliver on the portfolio

·        Partner within silico discovery and data scientists to enable AI/ML strategies

·        Author patents and scientific publications

·        Create an inspiring, scientific rigorous & innovative environment where team members learn, grow and collaborative effectively to tackle the most challenging problem

·        Evaluate external licensing opportunities and participate in due diligences as needed.

·        Collaborate with ISD and Modality leaders to effectively deploy high resolution structures and HDX-MS data to advance molecule design

·        Manage stake holder partnerships and develop strong functional collaborations across Therapeutics Discovery

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Required Minimum Education: Ph.D.                  
  • Minimum 15- 20 years Industry experience  
  • Strong communication skills, Leading cross-functional teams or initiatives
  • At least 5-10 years of People Management Experience
  •  Up to 20% Travel – domestic and international
