Jansen is recruiting for our Sr Director, CVMR-PH Scientific Strategy and Innovation which is in either Spring House, PA or Cambridge, MA.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for the right candidate! As a core member of the Discovery LT, the incumbent identifies and brings forward internal and external opportunities to strengthen and expand CVMR-PH portfolio both in priority and opportunistic areas, across all development stages. They are expected to work closely with IC/BD/GCSO to scope out the competitor landscape for existing and new disease areas for CVMR-PH, and identify opportunities in core areas and adjacencies. Due to the incumbent’s broad drug discovery/development and disease areas expertise, they drive deep scientific evaluation of potentially transformational opportunities while working closely with Functional partners and providing scientific go-no-go recommendations for governance review.

The overarching responsibility of this position is to assume leadership position in Cross-Functional collaborations, lead internal and external activities, conduct the due diligence and appropriately influence through presentations and conferences as needed.

Qualifications

PhD required

- Strong scientific background and domain area knowledge, with track record of directing complex research programs in a Pharma and/or Biotech setting, leveraging both internal and external capabilities.

- Knowledge of CVMR-PH areas, unmet need and basis for strategic positioning of internal assets

- Up-to-date in depth knowledge of external landscape, emerging science and disruptive approaches/modalities

- Established track record of success in running projects to go-no-go decisions and meaningful contribution to portfolio (e.g. key milestones)

- Demonstrated ability as cross-functional leader.

- 30% travel
