J&J’s Engineering & Property Services organization provides end to end leadership and management of J&J’s global building footprint, with a significant impact across the J&J Enterprise. The people of E&PS share the responsibility to plan-design-build-and run our global building footprint to directly enable the needs of the business, by providing end to end services from Real Estate, Engineering & Project Delivery to Facilities Management. The Senior Director, Insights, Analytics & Planning is a key E&PS leadership position, leading a team with the responsibility to understand business objectives, translate those into a holistic E&PS strategy, standardize the performance management systems for strategy execution, deliver standard / efficient business processes across E&PS, and create custom insights that drive differentiated building performance for our businesses.

This position is accountable to lead integrated capabilities each with significant contributions to the strategic agenda of the E&PS organization: strategy, performance management, business operations, and capital investment planning.

Included in these responsibilities are the enabling elements of a seamless, simple, yet holistic approach to connecting with the business that will be deployed within the regional construct around the world. Insights gleaned from these partnerships will be the responsibility of this leader to summarize and translate into a clear, value driven, and actionable strategy to 1) drive business growth, 2) deliver increased profitability, and 3) better manage facility risk. Measurement systems such as G&Os, scorecards, and the associated metrics to measure progress and results are also part of this scope as are the creation of simple, standardized, core business processes that eliminate waste, errors, and rework. Working closely with the J&J digital and technology leads to enable this work via a digitally enabled and accelerated ecosystem and approach are essential and included in the remit of this role.

Has direct and frequent executive engagement with Supply Chain, Commercial, and R&D leaders, especially their strategic leaders; is a member of the E&PS Global leadership team, and is expected to frequently present to the VP, Technical Operations, VP EH&S, and to J&J’s Supply Chain Management Committee on occasion.

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for Sr. Director, Insights, Analytics & Planning to be in New Brunswick, New York, or Pennsylvania.

You will be responsible for :

  • Shapes business needs into a cohesive strategy that delivers value to segments and enterprise - manages and orchestrates strategy planning, strategy execution and strategy communication on behalf of the E&PS organization
  • Leads the strategic councils for the organization and leverages other councils for input
  • Leads annual development and evolution of the E&PS goals, long range financial plan and value case
  • Ensures continuous connection and alignment to other business segment strategies, ensuring E&PS is driving Johnson & Johnson’s strategic objectives.
  • Connects externally to peer companies, industry associations, regulatory stakeholders, and thought leaders to bring an outside-in perspective to both organizations that this role serves.
  • Leads the Development of annual E&PS Goals & Objectives (G&Os), performance dashboard and metrics, and their communication/cascade throughout the organization
  • Management and measurement of G&O execution
  • Development and maintenance and cascading of E&PS global performance measures, scorecards, metrics and dashboards for all region and functions
  • Translating the E&PS performance measures into business value terms for all businesses across J&J
  • Process owner for core business processes like P2P, Business Planning, and leads a business process governance capability for process standardization.
  • Uses metrics and benchmarks (both internal and external) to identify standard methodologies, cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Partners with Global Workstreams, Leadership team, and Regional Leads to foster culture of continuous improvement driven by metrics, benchmarking, and standard methodologies.
  • Establishes partnership with Finance to support our global E&PS footprint spend of $2B driving to sector needs, and tracks budget vs. performance to better balance spend to meet dynamic sector requirements.
  • Responsible for conceiving/designing/deploying a standard cost allocation methodology.
  • Conceiving and launching new programs for apprenticeships, scholarships, etc. as talent attraction vehicles that build broad strength in J&J STEM
  • Managing the Organization effectiveness capability, including sponsorships, scholarships, apprenticeships program, and coordination with external engineering groups like FIRST, ISEF, etc.
  • Leading a business process governance capability for standardization of core enabling processes across E&PS
  • Conceiving and launching new programs for apprenticeships, scholarships, etc. as talent attraction vehicles that build broad strength in J&J STEM

Qualifications

  • University/Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of Operations, Engineering, real estate, facilities, Business, or project management experience is required.
  • 10+ years of People Management Experience
  • Mastery of large program leadership, governance, and orchestration is essential
  • Minimum of 10 years managing global teams
  • Deep knowledge of real estate, facilities, and engineering capabilities
  • Outstanding collaboration, connect, influence, and shaping skills
  • Percentage Traveled: 20-30%

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 163,000 to 282,900.
