At Bright Machines®, we’re innovators and experts in our craft who have joined together to create a new category of manufacturing that will help transform the industry. We believe software and data are the answer, thoughtfully applied to solve our customers’ unique challenges. Through intelligent automation, we give factories newfound flexibility, scalability, and resilience. We deliver products to meet the demands of today while building a platform to take advantage of what comes next.
Working with us means you’ll have the opportunity to make lasting, impactful changes for our company and our customers. If you’re ready to apply your exceptional skills to create the factory of the future, we’d love to speak with you.
As part of our Software R&D team developing factory automation applications, you will be interfacing closely with multiple teams that together design, manufacture, and commission software defined manufacturing lines for our customers, with parts of our software stack residing in the cloud. More specifically, your team owns how we design, build, install, and maintain the compute and network infrastructure needed to support these lines. Another way to put it is, we are doing a hybrid cloud infrastructure to support our customers global needs for new product introduction, inspection, monitoring, and alarming.
This role embraces modern software development practices, like being highly agile and has complete ownership of the full lifecycle of this backbone that enables our hybrid cloud. In this case, part of the lifecycle happens in factories, which involves traveling.
Travel requirements might be as high as 50% initially and decreasing within the first 6-months. As an owner of this stack, you're empowered and encouraged to implement creative solution's minimizing the need and length of on-site visits.

  • Participate in the design and implementation of our hybrid cloud backbone. Focusing on our on-premises deployments
  • Design, provision, configure and maintain:
  • OS: Linux and Windows systems
  • Network: Physical network equipment, and its configuration
  • Storage: Network attached storage
  • Physical Systems: Procure, ship, and install servers, network equipment, and cabling in a rack
  • Support our security team when presenting our hybrid cloud backbone to customers
  • Install, test, and troubleshoot equipment in server racks at customer facilities
  • Evaluate and design highly available compute and network stacks
  • Full lifecycle: we behave as owners, and expect you to work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility, to keep improving what we do. That includes defining and implementing standards, and promote best practices for our infrastructure.
