Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in operational controls, business processes, and business analysis
- Proficiency with SQL query writing in a relational database environment (Sybase or SQL Server preferred)
- Experience in programming with at least one statistical programming language, such as R, Python, etc.
- Key characteristics: proactive, analytical mind, structured and systematic, with a focus on quality and attention to detail, having strong sense of responsibility, results oriented, excellent communication skills
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in STEM discipline
- At least one year working experience, financial industry experience is a plus
Responsibilities
Our role is to ensure the high quality of the data layer bridging databases and analytical tools, while overseeing the quality and efficiency of internal processes.
- Execute monthly policies and procedures monitoring to enhance and simplify internal processes, report the results of the analysis
- Verify the data query embedded in tools used within Moody’s Ratings given the document and characteristics of the data query tools
- Track and document the verification, support business and data requirements documentation
- Perform data/process analyses, presentations, and special projects as needed
About the team
The Modeling and Quantitative Analytics Group (MQAG) is responsible for development, calibration and verification of the analytical models and tools used in the credit rating process. By going through rigorous research, constructive challenge, testing, verification and review, MQAG plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and credibility of our ratings.
