Skills and Competencies
Required:
• Solid quantitative skills and analytical problem-solving ability
• Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm and ability to learn quickly and excel as part of a dynamic team
• Attention to detail and ability to work and learn independently is required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the confidence to interact with top financial professionals
• Basic SQL knowledge
Preferred:
• 1-2 years of experience with working knowledge of financial concepts and exposure to structured finance especially CDO/CLO is preferred
• Proficient in writing SQL queries for data analysis and extraction is preferred
• Proficient in writing macros using one programming language such as Microsoft Excel,VBA, Java, Python, and etc is preferred
Education
Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor’s) or graduate/second-level degree (e.g.MBA, Master’s) with an emphasis in financial engineering, computer science, engineering, maths, finance, economics, or a related quantitative field preferred
Responsibilities
• Update and validate collateral for Structured Finance transactions
• Work with proprietary datasets and data developers to maintain and improve data quality, consistency and breadth, with a specific focus toward extending our derived data
• Assist senior members of the team in maintaining and improving data processes
• Analyze complex financial fixed-income instruments
• Aid in the implementation, customization and use of analytic solutions
About the team
Our CLO Data team plays a critical role in processing, validating, and delivering periodic CLO data to downstream products. As part of Moody's Data Estate department, we focus on expanding CLO data coverage, enhancing derived data, and driving improvements in overall data quality.
