Skills and Competencies
- Extensive experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using Python and cloud-native services
- Deep expertise in workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow), data modeling frameworks (e.g., dbt), and distributed data systems
- Advanced proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services) and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
- Strong leadership in technical decision-making, mentoring, and establishing engineering best practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Commitment to automation, resiliency, and continuous improvement
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required; advanced degree preferred
Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-native data solutions, driving modernization and best practices in data engineering.
- Architect, design, and implement fault-tolerant data pipelines using workflow orchestration, data modeling, and cloud services
- Modernize legacy workflows into automated, event-driven cloud-native pipelines
- Define and enforce best practices for workflow architecture, dependency management, observability, and performance optimization
- Develop and govern data models, testing frameworks, and documentation standards
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives to enhance reliability, cost efficiency, and scalability
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, architecture reviews, and design sessions
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to shape platform strategy and roadmap
- Establish operational excellence standards, including service level indicators, data quality frameworks, and incident management
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex engineering projects from requirements to deployment

Our Digital Content & Innovations Data Engineering team is responsible for building Moody’s next-generation content and data delivery platform. By joining our team, you will contribute to modernization initiatives, drive engineering excellence, and support high-impact data solutions across Moody’s global business.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $168,200.00 - $243,650.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
