Skills and Competencies

  • Strong accounting and financial statement analysis skills
  • Proven financial modeling capabilities (i.e: 3-statement models, projections, DCF), including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
  • Solid understanding of key credit metrics (leverage, coverage, FCF, liquidity), covenant analysis, and basic debt documentation concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft clear, structured, and concise credit narratives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoin.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset, professional skepticism, and commitment to the highest ethical standards.
  • English: Professional proficiency
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree required with minimum 3 years relevant work experience. Graduate/second level degree (Masters, MBA or CFA program) preferred.

Responsibilities

The Associate Credit Analyst ML will conduct ongoing credit analysis of non‑financial companies in Argentina and Uruguay to support accurate ratings and market insight.

  • Perform fundamental credit analysis of corporate issuers, including detailed financial statement analysis (income statement, balance sheet, cash flows), liquidity assessments, leverage and coverage metrics, and capital structure reviews
  • Build, maintain, and stress-test 3-statement financial models; prepare forward-looking projections, scenarios, and sensitivities to assess downside risks and refinancing needs.
  • Draft high-quality credit memos, rating committee materials, issuer reports, and short research notes; synthesize complex information into concise, evidence-based conclusions.
  • Formulate a cogent rating rationale and present this rationale in a persuasive fashion at rating committee while leading the committee discussion.
  • Conduct peer benchmarking and sector/industry research; identify key drivers, competitive dynamics, and emerging risks (including event risk and, where relevant, ESG considerations).
  • Participate in issuer and investor interactions alongside senior analysts; prepare thoughtful questions for management meetings and follow up on information requests.
  • Monitor a defined portfolio of domestic issuers: track events, news, covenant compliance, operating performance versus forecasts, and upcoming maturities or liquidity inflection points.
  • Ensure data integrity across internal systems; document analytical judgments and adhere to methodologies, controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with senior analysts to support rating actions and publications; contribute to workflow improvements and analytical best practices.
