Skills and Competencies

  • 5+ years of experience in QA Automation, with a focus on scalable and reliable testing solutions.
  • Hands on experience with tools and frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Jest and Postman.
  • Experience using Playwright features (fixtures, locators, test runners, parallel execution) and configuration management (playwright.config.ts).
  • Experience with Selenium Grid, multi-threaded execution, and Docker for containerized automation environments.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, TypeScript, Python, and related automation scripting languages.
  • Experience/Knowledge of functional, integration, performance, database testing (e.g. SQL, Oracle, Postgres) and API testing skills.
  • Strong ability to identify edge cases and ensure thorough testing coverage.
  • Analytical thinking for identifying gaps in automation coverage and optimizing test performance.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and scrum practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure TFS, or similar tools).
  • Collaboration and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) for productivity in automation development and debugging.
  • Domain knowledge in Structured Finance or Asset Management products (preferred).

Education

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required.

Responsibilities

As an QA Engineer within Moody's, you will lead and manage quality assurance efforts for AM suite of applications and data solutions. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on testing and technical expertise, and a thorough understanding of modern QA tools and methodologies, particularly in automation frameworks like Playwright to ensure the delivery of high quality, reliable solutions for Asset Management projects.

  • Develop and execute automated testing strategies for web applications and APIs, ensuring comprehensive coverage for functionality, performance, and data integrity.
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks using tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, and Postman to streamline testing processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Execute end-to-end, API, and performance tests, validating system behavior under various conditions to meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, etc.) to align on quality goals, share test insights, and resolve defects efficiently.
  • Analyze and debug test failures, document defects with detailed steps, and prioritize resolution based on impact and severity.
  • Maintain and update testing assets, including test cases, test data, and dashboards, to ensure visibility into quality metrics and progress.
  • Actively participate in code reviews and provide testability feedback during design discussions to embed quality considerations early in the development lifecycle.
  • Apply agile practices from backlog grooming to sprint/release closure, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Utilize AI-assisted tools to improve productivity in test development, debugging, and code review.
