About the Role: As a Hardware Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will be responsible for driving the development and delivery of complex hardware projects as part of our dynamic team at Caper. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, and lead engineering design and decision-making processes to ensure successful project execution from concept to production. We are looking for highly skilled, driven individuals who thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment, are passionate about quality and improving team performance, and feel comfortable making decisions on scope and technical trade-offs as well as building executive-level narratives. You are able to operate independently and work proactively with various teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional project teams, including hardware engineering, software engineering, product management, and operations, to deliver high-quality hardware products on time and within budget.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
- Identify program risks and dependencies, develop mitigation plans, and , ensure issues are promptly resolved to keep projects on track.
- Create and define technical requirements, specifications, and deliverables, set program structure and influence program strategy.
- Drive the hardware development lifecycle, including design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
- Perform technical reviews of design documents and test plans to ensure compliance with technical specifications and requirements.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, providing regular updates and maintaining transparency.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Manage project documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in hardware program management, hardware engineering, or a related role.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex hardware products end-to-end, from concept to production throughout hardware development cycle.
- Strong understanding of hardware development processes, including design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a technology/engineering discipline.
- Experience in consumer electronics or related industries.
- Good understanding of hardware design and development, including working knowledge of PCB design, embedded systems, and firmware development.
- Knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing processes.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience working with international teams and suppliers.
- Strong background in systems engineering and integration.
