About the job (what are you going to do)

Business Management:

  • Oversee comprehensive quality management of PCBA and other critical electronic component suppliers, including qualification audits, process capability assessments, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Hardware Supplier Chain Quality System Development and Implementation: Lead the establishment of a quality system covering the entire product lifecycle, and drive its implementation and continuous optimization.
  • Participate extensively in New Product Introduction (NPI) phases, reviewing PCBA design documentation, test protocols, and process specifications, providing proactive preventive recommendations from manufacturability, testability, and reliability perspectives.
  • Lead resolution of major and complex PCBA-related quality issues arising in production and customer applications, applying 8D, 5 Why, DOE, and other methodologies for root cause analysis, driving suppliers and internal teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage supplier quality change requests, assess change risks, and ensure compliance and stability of change implementations.
  • Establish and optimize standards and processes for PCBA Incoming Quality Control (IQC) and In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), with proficiency in applying QC Seven Tools for statistical data analysis.
  • Collaborate with procurement and R&D teams on supplier technical capability development and negotiations, driving overall supplier quality improvement.

Team Building:

  • Team Management and Capability Building: Build and manage the hardware Supplier quality team, define performance objectives and development plans, and enhance the team’s professional quality expertise.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with R&D, product, testing, production, and customer quality teams to align quality objectives, embed quality requirements into cross-departmental processes, and reduce quality risks caused by process misalignment.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in quality management of intelligent hardware, consumer electronics or related industries. Prior experience in supplier management of a 0-1 start-up company is preferred. Among them, 3 years of management experience in the same position, and successful practice in quality control of complex product supply chains from 0 to 1.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and enhance overall team capability.
  • Must possess expert knowledge of PCBA R&D design principles, manufacturing processes (SMT, DIP), and testing principles (ICT, FCT, etc.), with ability to independently read and interpret circuit diagrams, PCB layouts, and design specifications.
  • Extensive international quality project management experience with familiarity in global mainstream quality system standards.
  • Proficient in quality tools including 8D, 5 Why, QC Seven Tools, and DOE, with proven successful application experience.
  • Exceptional cross-functional communication and coordination skills, stress management capabilities, and ability to independently drive problem resolution in urgent situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior PCBA hardware R&D experience is highly preferred.
  • Excellent English proficiency (listening, speaking, reading, writing) for seamless communication with overseas teams and suppliers as a working language.
  • Familiarity with advanced quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt), FMEA, and APQP.
  • Outstanding supplier negotiation skills with ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-intensity work environments.

We offer a competitive salary package

At Caper, the total compensation consists of base salary and equity in the form of RSUs (Restricted Stock Units). The job description shows only the base salary component, but we will additionally offer additional stock rewards from our parent company, Instacart. As a publicly traded company in the U.S., Instacart's stock can be directly traded on the market and holds potential for appreciation.

Caper has our own salary philosophy. The final salary of an offer will have a direct connection with the candidate's experience and skill level presented during the interview.
