Job Description:

Summary:

A Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, adhering to strict protocols and regulations. Their duties include cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting surfaces, equipment, and rooms, following regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). They also manage inventory of cleaning supplies, document their work, and report any deviations or safety concerns.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform routing and specialized cleaning tasks in GMP areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces, equipment and rooms, throughout the building/property. This includes but is not limited to laboratories, offices, and common areas.
• Following SOPs: Adhere to detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning and sanitization, ensuring consistent and compliant practices
• Documentation: Accurately record all cleaning activities, including the use of specific cleaning agents and the completion of required documentation, to maintain a clear audit trail.
• Restroom Maintenance: Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with supplies.
• Waste Management: Emptying trash and recycling receptacles and disposing of waste properly, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Window and Mirror Cleaning: Cleaning windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
• Material Management: Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials and ensuring their proper storage to prevent contamination
• Assist with stocking shelves, after deliveries arrive, in accordance with procedures when requested
• Following Safety Protocols: Adhering to safety guidelines and using cleaning products and equipment safely, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
• Communication: Reporting any maintenance issues or unusual situations to supervisors.
• GMP Compliance: Ensure all cleaning activities meet GMP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Training: Participate in required training on cleaning procedures, equipment usage, and safety protocols. This includes but is not limited to carpet shampooing and floor buffering machines.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with other teams, such as Quality, various laboratory personnel, Administration, and Facilities, to coordinate cleaning schedules and address any issues.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a GMP, laboratory, or other sterile environment preferred
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is crucial for thorough cleaning and identifying areas that need attention.
• Physical Stamina: Cleaning tasks often involve physical activity, requiring physical endurance and being able to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead and away from the body; the ability to walk/stand/kneel/squat/sit for prolonged periods is required. Must be comfortable working periodically on various sized ladders.
• Time Management: Efficiently managing time to complete cleaning tasks within the allocated timeframe.
• Communication Skills: Clear communication with supervisors and with building occupants.
• Problem-Solving: Identifying and addressing cleaning challenges or issues related to cleaning and sanitation that may arise.
• Adaptability: Being able to adjust to different cleaning needs and environments.
• Knowledge of Cleaning Techniques: Understanding proper cleaning procedures and the use of cleaning chemicals.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to cleaning tasks.
• Familiarity with 5-SA organizational skills preferred

Compensation and Shift Information:

• The base compensation range for this role is $20.00/hr - $25.00/hr and is commensurate with experience.
• The work shift for this position is M-F from 4pm - 9pm
