Job Description:

Summary:

This position is responsible for maintaining client relationships, acting as a point of contact, prospecting, qualifying and generating new leads to support expanding the business. This individual will be a highly motivated, self-starter who enjoys identifying and developing new business prospects from multiple sources including inbound marketing leads, online engagements, prospect lists, event leads, contacts, discovery and individual research. A dynamic personality with a drive to reach decision makers is essential! This role is critical in supporting biopharmaceutical companies to ensure product safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a robust, metrics-driven sales plan that ensures attainment of corporate goals and key performance indicators; manage the direct sales pipeline
  • Proactively and independently identify leads and key decision makers for target products/services, pursue initial contact and coordinate follow ups to obtain conversion and business realization
  • Manage accounts for long-term success and develop positive relationships with clients
  • Locate and propose potential business opportunities by contacting end user customers and potential strategic partners
  • Screen potential business deals/opportunities with final end user customers & analyzing market strategies, deal/opportunity requirements, prospect and market potential, and financials
  • Conduct consultation and strategy meetings with clients
  • Develop a Sales Program inclusive of sales strategies and plans aimed at supporting lead generation, client engagement and ultimately the entire Sales process from lead generation to opportunity conversion
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of company activities, industry trends, and US/international regulatory requirements for biologicals
  • Possess a deep understanding of outbound prospecting including but not limited to script development, target account management, and engaging in social media for prospecting and securing appointments
  • Support the development of marketing initiatives aimed at enhancing brand awareness and brand recognition, assist in defining strategies and tools for the development of metric-driven marketing campaigns and sales material that are effective in delivering measurable results
  • Cultivate business relationships through networking, industry events, and outbound marketing
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge in mycoplasma testing and services; participate in industry tradeshows, conferences and seminars
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner internally with internal and external stakeholders such as the management team and scientific staff, as well as with clients and prospective clients clearly about project/client needs
  • Research and provide insight on competitive positioning
  • Assist in decisions involving price structure and price negotiations
  • Complete and report on assignments within the established timeframe
  • Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
  • Ability and willingness to travel when appropriate, 25%+ of the time
  • Exercise independent judgement and discretion to make decisions affecting the organization
  • Additional duties or special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or technical/scientific related field from an accredited college/university
  • 3+ years of sales and marketing experience in the life science/biopharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills to consistently track progress of sales cycle and follow-ups
  • Strong cold call experience, including ability to overcome objections in setting appointments with new prospects
  • Strong business and marketing strategy skills with proven track record of business generation
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Must possess strong time management skills to be able to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively under deadline pressure
  • Exceptional communications skills – effectively, clearly and concisely conveys ideas, concepts and opportunities. Excel in written and formal presentations.
  • Ability to speak to both tactical and strategic decision makers.
  • Recognized for having a very strong drive for results: ability to take a proactive approach to identify, create and deliver new business with minimal supervision
  • Familiar with targeted display, mobile and video marketing strategies, social media, and traditional campaigns
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license/passport for required travel
  • Proficient with CRM software Microsoft-based software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; experience utilizing Salesforce software preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work remotely
  • Reliable internet connectivity to support remote work including video calls

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting on a chair, working at a desk and working on a computer and/or telephone
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Pay Rate:

  • The base compensation range for this role is between $75,000/yr - $95,000/yr. The actual compensation is commensurate with experience.

  • Additional variable compensation based on uncapped sales commission plan
