POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Analytical Development team as a Research Associate II/Senior Research Associate. This position is an excellent opportunity to help develop new gene editing and xenotransplantation products in an exciting and dynamic environment focused on cutting-edge molecular and cellular engineering technology.
In this role, you will be part of a small team responsible for developing and qualifying methods to assess transgene expression and function in genetically modified porcine cells. This role will involve significant cell culture work, including the isolation, growth and maintenance of primary cells, such as endothelial cells from various organs, and characterizing these cells using techniques such as flow cytometry and ELISA. To be successful in this role, you will leverage previous experience with immunological and genomic assays. This role is a full-time lab-based position in which being proactive, determined, responsible, coachable, and collaborative will help you thrive.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in development, optimization, troubleshooting, and execution of robust and reproducible assays, including functional potency assays as well as release and characterization assays
  • Utilize various techniques to characterize the primary cells and/or factors they produce through routine analytical testing (including flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR, etc.)
  • Support routine lab activities through upkeep of critical reagents and supplies
  • Communicate and present scientific findings at group and company meetings
  • Document results in electronic lab notebook
  • Contribute to multiple research projects as they arise in our fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Work cross-functionally as needed with QC, translational sciences and more
