The Elevator Pitch

Evolv Technologies Holdings, Inc. is seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the New Product Introduction process from engineering to manufacturing. You will work closely with our engineering team to transfer new products into manufacturing and ensure a smooth transition. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our company's growth and success.

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

In the first 30 days, you will:

  • Familiarize yourself with our current products and manufacturing processes
  • Learn about our company's goals, values, and culture
  • Understand the New Product Introduction process and the role of a Manufacturing Engineer
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to gain insights into new product designs
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders in the manufacturing department and our Contract Manufacturer

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Assist in the development of manufacturing plans for new and existing products
  • Become familiar with all mechanical suppliers to ensure product is delivered to specifications
  • Oversee the creation of work instructions for manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues during the transition phase
  • Participate in supplier selection and qualification processes

By the end of the first year, you will:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and efficiency
  • Optimize production line layouts and workflow
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot any production issues
  • Contribute to cost reduction efforts and quality improvements


The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Technical Expertise in Manufacturing Engineering:

  • Proficiency with various manufacturing processes, particularly those related to Electromechanical Integrated Systems.
  • Basic understanding of plastic molding processes and familiarity with vendors.
  • Ability to develop, optimize, and oversee manufacturing plans for new and existing products.

New Product Introduction (NPI) Proficiency:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the NPI process from the engineering phase to manufacturing.
  • Experience in transferring new products into manufacturing smoothly and effectively.
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives to refine the NPI process.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Capability to work closely with engineering teams, providing insights into manufacturing considerations during the product design phase.
  • Skill in collaborating with cross-functional teams to address and resolve issues during the product transition phase.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including manufacturing department personnel and Contract Manufacturers.

Supplier Management:

  • Experience in supplier selection and qualification processes.
  • Ability to maintain robust relationships with mechanical suppliers to ensure product delivery to specifications.
  • Competence in collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

  • Strong capability in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues proactively.
  • Proficiency in using analytical skills to contribute to cost reduction efforts and quality improvements.

Operational Excellence:

  • Experience in creating and overseeing work instructions for manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to optimize production line layouts and workflow to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Leadership in continuous improvement initiatives targeting manufacturing process enhancements.

Educational Background and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, ideally with exposure to NPI processes.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Effective communication skills for interacting with different teams, stakeholders, and external suppliers.
  • Ability to quickly familiarize oneself with the company's goals, values, and culture, and to integrate seamlessly into the team.

This role is based out of our headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts.

What is the salary range?

The base salary range for this full-time position is $88,000-142,000 equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
