As an Electric Propulsion Engineer at Impulse Space you will support the development of a novel electric propulsion system for our Mira spacecraft. The role will touch all aspects of electric propulsion across the entire product life cycle, from mechanical design to vacuum chamber testing to flight hardware development and integration.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate electric propulsion test facilities including vacuum chambers, diagnostics, and ground support equipment
- Develop mass-production manufacturing processes and tools for electric propulsion flight hardware
- Own all aspects of component design from concept to product realization
- Design and execute test campaigns for electric propulsion flight qualification
- Perform thermal and structural analysis as needed
- Support interdisciplinary system-level conceptual design, hardware development, testing, and integration
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering field
- 1+ years of demonstrated hands-on industry or laboratory experience with electric propulsion hardware
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and testing hardware in an industry or laboratory setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new software tools
- Demonstrated ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly and testing of hardware
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Master's or PhD in electric propulsion in an experimental setting
- 3+ years of demonstrated hands-on industry or laboratory experience with electric propulsion hardware
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems with minimal direction and oversight
- Experience with spaceflight operations and/or interdisciplinary spacecraft design

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
