As a Director of Supply Chain at Impulse, you will lead and scale our end-to-end supply chain operations—from sourcing and procurement to inventory control, logistics, and supplier quality. In this role, you’ll ensure the seamless flow of mission-critical parts and materials that power our spacecraft.

Reporting To

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all supply chain functions including strategic sourcing, procurement, materials planning, logistics, and inventory management
  • Develop, lead and execute a high-performance supply chain strategy aligned with company growth, product roadmap, and manufacturing goals
  • Establish and manage supplier relationships with a focus on reliability, cost optimization, lead time reduction, and compliance (e.g., ITAR, AS9100, DFARS)
  • Implement and maintain scalable systems for supply chain planning, ERP/MRP, and vendor performance tracking
  • Anticipate risks and proactively mitigate supply constraints, disruptions, and geopolitical/logistical challenges
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement practices, inventory control, and cost savings
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing supply chain team in a high-precision, fast-paced environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain management, with 5+ years in a leadership or director-level role
  • Deep experience in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or hardware-focused industries
  • Proven success in managing complex supply chains with tight tolerances, long lead times, and strict regulatory requirements
  • Strong understanding of global sourcing, supplier contracts, ERP/MRP systems, and just-in-time vs. long-horizon planning
  • Working knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO9001), ITAR, and export controls

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • MBA or Masters' degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • 5+ years' of demonstrated experience with supply chain knowledge working with spacecraft systems, satellite manufacturing, or rocket/launch vehicle components
  • Background in new product introduction (NPI) and scaling supply operations from R&D to production
  • Familiarity with digital supply chain tools, advanced analytics, and predictive logistics
  • APICS or Six Sigma certification
Additional Information:

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
