As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Impulse, you will be responsible for transforming raw data from Snowflake and SaaS sources into trusted dashboards, models, and insights that inform day-to-day decisions and long-term strategy. You will help shape our BI layer (Snowflake → dbt → Power BI), partner with data engineers to maintain healthy data pipelines that are CMMC/ITAR compliant, and present clear, actionable findings to stakeholders at every level. Impulse Space relies on high-quality, timely data to guide engineering, manufacturing, and business operations.

Responsibilities
- Translate open-ended business questions into analytical approaches, producing clear narratives and actionable recommendations
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports used by leadership and cross-functional teams for KPI tracking and weekly operational reviews
- Develop and test robust SQL/dbt models that transform raw Snowflake data into documented, reusable datasets
- Collaborate with data engineering to improve ELT pipelines, enforce data definitions, and uphold data quality SLAs
- Investigate trends, quantify root causes, and identify opportunities that impact revenue, cost, or risk; automate repeatable analyses to accelerate turnaround time
- Ensure all datasets and visualizations adhere to CUI, ITAR, and CMMC data-handling requirements
- Support special projects (e.g., supply chain analytics, capacity planning, cybersecurity KPIs) with deep-dive analysis and scenario modeling
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
- 3+ years professional experience in a data, BI, or analytics engineering role
- Advanced SQL skills and a strong understanding of dimensional modeling principles
- Hands-on experience building end-to-end dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or Looker (Power BI preferred)
- Experience working with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred)
- Proven ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences and manage multiple stakeholders
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with Python or R for automation and statistical analysis
- Familiarity with dbt, Fivetran, Airflow, Prefect, or similar ELT/orchestration tools
- Exposure to regulated manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environments (CMMC, ITAR, CUI)
- Experience working with Salesforce, NetSuite, or other business system APIs
- Programming knowledge in any of the following is a plus: Angular / JavaScript / React C# / .NET / or MSSQL
- Experience supporting or implementing manufacturing systems
- Knowledge of SaaS architecture, cloud platforms, and microservices
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
