As a Test Specialist, you will perform a wide range of spacecraft component and assembly testing while developing and maintaining state-of-the-art test equipment. You will work closely with engineering to improve overall test processes across the company.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with test engineers to design and implement complex test setups for development and/or production environments (e.g. integrated systems testing in a thermal vacuum chamber with additional instrumentation for model validation)
- Work with test engineers, manufacturing engineers, production technicians to improve production test processes and improve acceptance test flow and automation
- Perform maintenance and calibration activities for environmental and robotic test equipment
- Respond to production related non-conformances and drive to root cause and disposition
- Maintain process planning documents and action feedback when necessary
- Provide training and guidance to other technicians
- Provide training and guidance to engineers regarding practical test setups and instrumentation
- Support the avionics test team's participation when interfacing with related departments (e.g. integrated vehicle testing or propulsion testing)
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 4+ years of experience working on electronic or propulsion assemblies and/or test production environment or a bachelor's degree in an engineering field
- Deep knowledge of the safe operation of electrical, power, and data acquisition systems
- Proficient with wiring and electrical systems
- Proficient with fabricating and acquiring parts to build test capabilities from basic requirements with minimal direction from others
- Ability to troubleshoot problems with electrical systems and implement scrappy solutions
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering
- 7+ years of demonstrated professional experience providing support for the production and test of highly complex components (e.g. cars, battery systems, valves, actuators)
- Experience designing tooling in a hardware development environment
- Capable of solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
- Ability to use CAD tools to design 3D printable and/or sheet metal fixtures
- Familiarity with RF test equipment
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
