As a Guidance, Navigation, and Control Manager at Impulse Space, you will lead a world-class team implementing GNC for space vehicles including propulsive satellites, large transfer vehicles/kick stages, and landers.

Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of GNC engineers working on our portfolio of spacecraft
- Mentor engineers in their professional growth
- Evaluate the technical performance of team members
- Champion continuous improvement in the GNC system and analysis/verification simulations
- Partake in GNC architectural trades and design for new vehicles
- Organize and track team progress on a variety of projects
- Evaluate GNC algorithm design and implementation
- Communicate GNC needs to the broader engineering team
- Work with the business development team to identify and capture new opportunities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline
- 7+ years of experience in spacecraft GNC design and analysis
- 2+ years of experience with direct report management in a technical leadership role
- Proficiency in Matlab and C++
- Experience performing control analysis in time and frequency domains, estimation theory, or astrodynamics
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing GNC platforms in growing company environment
- Demonstrated experience in upper stage or lander control
- Experience with vehicle-GNC design processes, from concept, through design reviews and implementation
- Experience with rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) or formation flying
- Experience in a startup or agile development environment
- Experience in spacecraft operations
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
