As an Infrastructure Administrator at Impulse Space, you will serve as the primary on-site IT lead at one of our locations. This hybrid role blends L1 through L3 technical support with hands-on infrastructure administration, requiring both excellent customer service and strong systems expertise.
From helping users reset passwords to managing cloud infrastructure, network gear, and compliance-aligned systems. This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, mission-driven aerospace environment.

Responsibilities
On-Site Support and IT Operations
- Serve as the first line of defense for all local IT issues, providing L1 to L3 support across Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints
- Deliver exceptional in-person support for day-to-day issues, including hardware, software, printing, and connectivity
- Provide white-glove support to executives and key stakeholders
- Handle new hire onboarding and offboarding, including device setup, account provisioning, and access configuration
- Maintain and curate documentation and internal knowledge base articles
- Managing sub-contractors performing work on-premises
- Supporting rapid deployment of physical IT hardware (e.g. running data lines, adding cameras, networking equipment, etc)
Infrastructure and Systems
- Deploy, configure, and maintain on-prem and cloud infrastructure (VMware, Azure, AWS)
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform
- Monitor and troubleshoot network systems, VPNs, and endpoint performance
- Support integration and automation across IT systems, apps, and platforms
- Own and manage backup systems and disaster recovery plans
- Support privileged access management and contribute to zero-trust architecture enforcement
Security and Compliance Support
- Operate IT systems in alignment with CMMC, NIST 800-171, and ITAR practices
- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., PRTG, Nagios)
- Coordinate with IT leadership and Security on incident response, endpoint security, and logging
- Assist with audit prep, hardware inventory, and vendor coordination
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience providing hands-on L1–L3 technical support in a professional environment
- Experience managing and troubleshooting systems across Windows, macOS, and Linux
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft 365, Intune, and Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, or similar)
- Experience supporting VMware, Azure, or AWS environments
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
- Experience supporting classified or regulated environments (CMMC, ITAR, NIST 800-171)
- Prior experience managing local IT infrastructure at a remote site
- Experience with facilities build-outs, cable or fiber installations, and lab infrastructure support
- Strong understanding of zero trust, endpoint hardening, and identity access controls
- Prior experience building and deploying hardware to support manufacturing groups
- Familiarity with endpoint management, backups, and network hardware (switches, firewalls, APs)
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer service skills
- Comfortable using a lift
Additional Information:
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
