What We Need
Kymeta is looking for a highly technical Program Manager to help manage research and development efforts for the next generation of satellite antenna technologies. The successful candidate will play a key role in a truly world-class, multidisciplinary team that’s reinventing satellite communications technology to provide the next generation of mobile connectivity.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Help plan, scope, and manage research and development project
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibilit
  • Work with teams to develop project milestones and project estimates
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
  • Lead and coordinate interdisciplinary brainstorms and root cause analysis efforts
  • Ensure steady progress of tasks and identifying stalled or blocked items
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and executive summaries
  • Report to management with detailed status updates and estimation tracking on project deliverables
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage vendor execution to desired schedule, budget, and statement of work
  • Manage strategic supplier and development partner relationships
  • Coordinate risk management processes and mitigations
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management in technology development
  • Proven ability to successfully manage engineering projects and teams that deliver new products to market on schedule and within budget constraints
  • Ability to set expectations and hold individuals and team members accountable to their commitments.
  • Understanding of the hardware development life cycle, new product introduction processes, and best practice engineering processes
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in new technology development
  • Ability to coordinate actions across various engineering and technician groups
  • Ability to facilitate and contribute to detailed technical conversations
  • Ability to conduct rapid problem solving activities to design and prototype challenges.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Ability to balance engineering workloads with project communication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage in difficult conversations that result in positive, actionable outcomes.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings
  • Ability to communicate information using standard Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Office, Power Point, Project and Visio.
NICE TO HAVE:
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers and vendors
  • Experience working with contract design houses to support product development
  • Understanding of manufacturing process control and statistical analysis techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira or similar project management software
EDUCATION
  • B.S. from an accredited institution in RF, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science, Physics, Physical Electronics or related fields.
COMPENSATION
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $120,000 - $175,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
