What We Need
Kymeta is looking for a Quality Engineer II with significant experience and expertise with leading Corrective Action investigations and conducting failure analysis, significant proficiency with mechanical, electrical and software related failure investigations. Comfortable in multidisciplinary environments where the issues are in high level systems or in the lowest level electrical and mechanical components. Experience in the satellite, consumer electronics or telecommunications industry strongly desired.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as primary coordinator for root cause analysis, defining rework and retest processes and corrective actions at Kymeta or the original contract manufacturer
  • Oversee the manufacturing inspection and out of box inspection processes
  • Leveraging both Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineering partners, lead the effort to improve first pass yields
  • Analyze & debug electronic components, assemblies, and systems to meet performance, functional and cost goals as required
  • Assist in customer related technical problems and training when necessary
  • Train engineering & production staff in assembly, test and design procedures as required
  • Work closely with outside part and service vendors to facilitate planning, design, development, and formal test of systems in a fast-paced environment
  • Convert discoveries regarding root cause into corrective and preventative action plans.
  • Work with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing Test Engineering to generate meaningful process changes to correct process escapes
  • Lead the Kymeta Corrective Action process and chair the Kymeta Corrective Action Board
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of hands-on, hardware engineering experience
  • Comfortable with Electrical Engineering fundamentals (analog/digital design, signal/power integrity, etc.)
  • Comfortable with Mechanical Engineering fundamentals (tolerancing, material properties, GD&T, test and inspection methods)
  • Comfortable with Systems Engineering fundamentals
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Experience with high density layouts and designs
  • Experience leading a project or small, cross-functional team of engineers with proven results
  • Significant experience with Failure Analysis from component to system level
  • Significant experience with corrective action programs
  • Extensive experience with non-conformance management programs
EDUCATION
  • Engineering degree (MS preferred)
COMPENSATION
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $80,000 - $135,000. This is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would be atypical, in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. Compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and geography. The total compensation package for this position includes an annual target bonus of 10%, stock options, and benefits listed below. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
