About the role

As we scale for our next phase of growth, we need to move from manual processes to a high-performance "People Product." We are looking for a People Systems & Programs Manager to be the primary architect and builder of LangChain’s internal People infrastructure.

In this role, you will design and implement the scalable systems that allow us to grow while maintaining our bar. You will lead the development of our global compensation frameworks, career leveling, performance cycles, and AI-native operations. This is a high-impact, "builder" role for someone who thrives on turning chaos into documented, automated, and world-class programs.

Location/City:

San Francisco, CA; New York, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Build & Implement Programs: Drive the end-to-end development and rollout of core people programs, including our first comprehensive compensation bands, career ladders/competency frameworks, performance review cycles, and onboarding and manager enablement in partnership with the People team and the business.

  • Architect the Tech Stack: Design and implement a unified, AI-first People tech strategy. You will move us away from fragmented systems into a cohesive "Source of Truth" that supports our global, hybrid workforce.

  • Innovation & Automation: Proactively identify toil in our people processes and solve it with automation. You will ensure our onboarding, data management, and reporting are smarter and more efficient than a traditional HR setup.

  • Operational Documentation: Turn tribal knowledge into institutional power. You will own the People playbook, ensuring every workflow is documented, transparent, and scalable.

  • Program Management: Lead the project lifecycle and change management across cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring we deliver on time and with high internal clarity.

  • Data Engineering: Build and maintain the dashboards that track organizational health, ensuring leadership has real-time visibility and insights on key People metrics.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience: You have been a key builder in a high-growth tech environment, specifically scaling systems through the 500 and 1,000 employee mark.

  • The "Architect" DNA: You enjoy the "how" and solving difficult problems. You are an expert at mapping complex workflows, auditing tech stacks, and building frameworks from scratch. You love data, measuring impact, and leveraging insights to design future improvements.

  • Technical & AI Aptitude: You have examples of leveraging AI-native tools and building with agents to solve traditional HR problems. You are a curious learner excited about future-of-work thinking and AI-enabled people systems.

  • Strong Documentation & Program Management Skills: You believe that if it isn't documented, it doesn't exist. You write clear, logical, and persuasive program overviews. You can move from strategy to execution, manage complex cross-functional programs, and deliver on time with high quality.

  • Execution Machine: You have a bias for action. You don't just design the strategy; you also roll up your sleeves, partner seamlessly with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure programs are successfully implemented and adopted.

Compensation & Benefits

  • We offer competitive compensation that includes base salary, meaningful equity, and benefits such as health and dental coverage, flexible vacation, a 401(k) plan, and life insurance. Actual compensation will vary based on role, level, and location. For team members in the EU and UK, we provide locally competitive benefits aligned with regional norms and regulations.

  • Annual salary range: $150,000 - $215,000
