Gear Guide - Part-Time Remote Customer Service

This is a part-time role, located anywhere in the world.
The Role
We’re on a mission to get more people to go more places and capture more epic moments. We think if everyone did this, people would be happier, more creative, and the world would be better.
To better deliver on our mission, we're hiring more Gear Guides to give our customers that personal service. While everyone else is moving to AI bots, we rely on real people to give advice on what to buy and how to set up their gear. Our team of Gear Guides are located around the world, helping our customers through email and chat in finding the right gear and learning how to use it.
Gear Guides are all part-time and can be spread anywhere around the world so we can provide customers with 24x7 coverage. To deliver the best service, we do require each Gear Guide to work a minimum of 12-15 hours per week, including weekends. We do offer 7-days of service and try to have a team of Gear Guides who can balance out the time zones and days of the week.

What Makes a Great Gear Guide?
Most of our Gear Guides are professional photographers and filmmakers who need a little extra part-time work. Our most successful guides are eager, fast to reply, and direct communicators. They are able to both recommend what to buy and help customers solve issues with their existing orders. The more you use the gear we sell, the more successful you will be.

- Any mobile-specific knowledge - Lenses, Filters, Gimbals, etc.
- A specific camera platform - Fujifilm, Sony, Nikon, Blackmagic, or Canon.
- Any drone and gimbal-specific knowledge - DJI, Zhiyun
- Any category-specific knowledge - Bags, Tripods, Lighting, Filters, or Audio.
- Editing Apps - mobile or desktop.
The Job - Your Daily Responsibilities
Each shift is a new adventure. ;-)
It starts by checking the inbox for any direct customer threads you are answering. Then expands into email, social, or chat support for the day… helping us keep the inbox at zero. We give you plenty of training so you can learn to both answer the “where is my order” emails and the “what should I buy” emails. Beyond email/chat, we do receive limited phone calls. Being comfortable on the phone is not a requirement, but a preferred experience.
- Reply to any open customer threads you have.
- Reply to email and social messages to get the inbox to zero.
- Pick up chat shifts and help customers during the purchasing decision.
- Pick up phone shifts if comfortable to help customers.
- Collaborate with other guides and teammates in Slack to resolve customer issues.
- Post site feedback/ideas/bugs you find as you’re helping customers.
Skills We’re Looking For
Even if you’re new to customer service, please apply. As long as you’re passionate about gear, learning, and working hard, we can teach you the role.
- Being a customer/user in any of the categories we sell.
- Is excited and knowledgeable about some of the verticals we offer, including mobile lenses, camera filters, travel bags, and phone software like iOS or Android
- Passionate about helping customers.
- Direct customer service experience is a big plus.
- Well-spoken with strong written and verbal skills in English.
- Able to respond to email, chat, SMS, or calls in high volume.
- Great at self-managing their time.
- Available to work and has a flexible schedule.
- Very familiar with Moment’s line of products and the products we sell.
- Active on social media.
Compensation and Benefits
We keep it simple.
- Starting pay of $10-15/hour (based on experience and location)
- 6-month increases.
