Role Summary

The Regional Program Engagement Consultant will serve as the local field-based representative of the Access to Healthcare (ATH) Program, a joint initiative between Boehringer Ingelheim and mPharma. This role is critical to expanding program visibility, increasing patient referrals, and coordinating with local healthcare providers and county stakeholders.

The role is based in Mombasa, ensuring consistent presence and impact across the region. Being a field-based role, there will be regular travel within Kilifi, Kwale and surrounding counties.

Key Responsibilities

Program Engagement & Awareness

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and engage new healthcare providers and facilities within the region to expand awareness and participation in the program.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of referring physicians (targeting 100 –120).
  • Conduct regular in-person and virtual engagements with hospitals and clinics, including doctors, pharmacists, heads of departments, and other key facility staff involved in patient care and program implementation.

Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Engage key stakeholders, including local healthcare providers, third-party pharmacies, and county health officials.
  • Facilitate onboarding and signing of program participation agreements with healthcare facilities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partner institutions in Mombasa and surrounding counties.

Facility Oversight & Operational Support

  • Oversee facility-level program implementation, including compliance with access pricing and patient referral processes.
  • Monitor stock movement at holding facilities (third-party pharmacies) and support monthly reconciliation.
  • Respond to facility-level queries related to the program and route any program-specific or covered medication-related requests accordingly.

Program Coordination & Reporting

  • Ensure timely execution of program activities in the field, including engagements with physicians, follow-ups, partner coordination, and support for implementation milestones.
  • Participate in relevant seminars, conferences, or stakeholder events to engage healthcare providers and raise awareness of the program among key audiences.
  • Provide structured weekly reports on field activities, account engagement, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Track progress against performance metrics and suggest improvements for local execution.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, or a health-related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical sales, field coordination, or healthcare engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in using digital tools for data entry, reporting, communication, and document management.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and deliver consistent results.
  • Strong project management background.
  • Strong familiarity with the healthcare landscape in Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, and surrounding counties would be a strong advantage.
