Company Overview:

Relativity is the first and only company to automate aerospace manufacturing by integrating intelligent robotics, software, and proprietary metal 3D printing technology. Disrupting 60 years of aerospace, Relativity offers a radically simplified supply chain, building a rocket with 100x fewer parts in less than 60 days. Our long-term goal is to upgrade humanity’s industrial base on Earth and on Mars.

Team:

The Software Engineering team is responsible for developing a wide array of software across the entire company. This includes controlling the rocket from launch pad to orbit, providing real-time control systems for engine testing, structures testing, and launch facilities, and lastly (but certainly not least) creating our factory of the future with our proprietary 3D printing technology. This team is at the forefront of driving Relativity Space towards our mission of a multi-planetary future, from changing how we manufacture rockets to how we fly them.

Here are the teams you may be a part of!

Additive: You will build and deliver a powerful automation platform for Additive Manufacturing on the largest 3D printers in the world! You will build data collection tools, intelligence platforms and micro-service driven architectures that will allow us to make the printing process easier, reliable and scalable. This is the heart of our technology!

Web Services: You will build and deliver on critical tools, services and applications that will allow us to scale effectively. These applications can span across domains at the company, where you will build systems and interact with some or all of the following: 3D printing, materials development, engine testing, structures testing, and flight software. You will build systems and frameworks that will enable the rapid scaling of our company.

Our tech stack:
Languages: Python, C++, React, Typescript, Node.js
Technologies: InfluxDB, MySQL, Redis, DDS, NOSQL
CI/CD: GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes

What you’ll do:

You will play a key role in the software development life cycle from initial concept, trade studies, design, implementation, root cause analysis and production ready roll out. We follow agile development practices and expect you to implement quality software that is continuously integrated and deployable. You will solve complex problems using simple, elegant solutions.

What you need to know:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related technical field, or 4 years equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in an object-oriented programming language like Python or Java.
  • Experience with continuous integration and agile development.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Experience with micro-service architectures.
  • Experience with systems-level programming like synchronization primitives, memory management, etc.
  • Experience with different inter-process communication methods.
  • Experience designing software systems at-scale.
  • Demonstrated experience developing software with a customer focused mindset.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large code bases that span platforms and tools.
