About the Team:

The Avionics team is responsible for all aspects of the electrical design on the rocket, from electronics, interconnects, associated mechanical design, testing, and initial production. This team's scope includes the flight computers, power systems, RF systems, PCBA design, autonomous flight safety systems, and telemetry. This team works on complex electrical systems that require modularity and flexibility and are critical to the successful launch of Terran R and beyond!

About the Role:

• Supervise Avionics Manufacturing and Test’s shop floor activities, including daily schedules, logistics, and material flow.
• Lead and manage a team of technicians, including all performance management-related tasks, team development, and growth through training programs and mentorship.
• Monitor labor hours and overtime and implement improvement and time management plans.
• Assign work and set daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Continuously improve procedures, processes, manpower efficiency, utilization, and productivity of Avionics Manufacturing & Test workflows.
• Identify and escalate risks and required production metrics to support departmental objectives and improvements.
• Develop and implement cost-reduction processes and quality improvement measures.
• Manage the lab environment, including organization, safety, and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with high-quality aerospace standards and AS9100D industry regulations.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, with accommodations provided as necessary to ensure equal employment opportunity.

About you:

• 10+ years of manufacturing experience with a minimum of 3 years in a people management role.
• Experience working with electronics and wiring systems, particularly in environments requiring high-quality standards of mission-critical hardware.
• Industry experience working with electromechanical assemblies, wire harnessing, environmental testing, and production lifecycles.
• Experience with MS software suite and shop floor management software (ERP/MRP/MES) or related programs or dashboards.
• Experience building and defining production and test rate schedules.

Nice to haves but not required:

• A bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing or technical discipline is highly preferred.
• Experience in aerospace or a similar industry related to high-quality manufacturing and environmental stress screening.
• Ability to adapt to constantly changing work assignments and a fast-paced work environment.
• Experience bringing teams and processes from initial development to full-scale production.
• Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis.
• Familiarity with soldering, harnessing, or test standards such as IPC, J-STD or similar.
• Experience with AS9100 quality management systems.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
