About The Role

As a Mechanical Technician at Whisper Aero, you will support the mechanical design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes. Your role is vital in assisting the development of future propulsors and test equipment, contributing to everything from assembly to testing and maintenance.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in designing and assembling mechanical components for ground and flight hardware.
  • Participate in the building of prototypes using various manufacturing methods.
  • Work closely with engineers and other technicians in constructing prototype hardware.
  • Support project management with external manufacturers to ensure quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Contribute to design reviews and assist in the assembly of propulsors.
  • Perform various related tasks and assist in delegating tasks to other technicians.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent technical training, with relevant work experience.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, including familiarity with CNC machining, composites, 3D printing, and prototyping.
  • Basic proficiency in CAD software.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and stress analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and manage time efficiently

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with mechanical components, particularly rotating parts.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal design and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of bolted joint analyses is a plus.
