About the Role

Whisper Aero is seeking an undergraduate or graduate level Engineering student for a Mechanical Engineer Intern. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and fabricating mechanical systems, test equipment, and hardware infrastructure in support of new propulsor development.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and fabricate mechanical systems, test equipment, and hardware infrastructure
  • Create models, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks
  • Design for and utilize rapid prototyping equipment
  • Communicate with other groups to integrate your designs
  • Prepare and conduct design reviews

Basic Qualifications

  • US Person Status
  • Have completed at least 2 years of schooling towards a BS or MS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
  • Proficient with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in rapid prototyping, designing to take full advantage of 3D printing tools
  • Drone or model aircraft experience
  • Experience designing tooling, test fixtures, and ground equipment
  • Experience operating lathes, mills, routers, CNC equipment, and/or 3D printers.
  • Experience designing electromechanical assemblies
  • Passion for prototyping
