About the Role

Whisper Aero is seeking a Quality Engineer who is passionate about parts, supply chain, and everything related to manufacturing. As a Quality Engineer in our manufacturing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance protocols that support our manufacturing processes. Your work will involve close collaboration with production teams, suppliers, and other engineering departments to identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring that our products not only meet but exceed customer expectations. You will be responsible for helping stand up Whisper Aero’s Quality Management system and lead activities that will enable customer deliveries. Your scope will include resolving issues related to our supply chain and holding Whisper Aero suppliers to our highest standards. This role will support manufacturing activities including, but not limited to, planning, scheduling, kitting, in-process inspections, inventory, shipping, and receiving

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and enforce quality standards, procedures, and control plans to ensure the consistent quality of products throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for quality-related issues, utilizing data-driven approaches to implement effective solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in manufacturing processes, focusing on reducing defects, improving efficiency, and enhancing overall product quality.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that incoming materials meet our quality requirements, and work with them to resolve any quality concerns.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and other relevant data, and prepare reports to communicate quality performance and trends to stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications

  • US Citizenship / Green Card Status
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, or 8 years related experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in Quality Engineering or Supplier Quality Engineering
  • 5+ years' experience with high volume manufacturing & assembly engineering of complex products in an automotive, consumer or aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
  • Experience with the project management of technical projects
  • 2+ years of experience performing internal and/or supplier audits.
  • 2+ years’ experience with quality tools such as 8D, DOE, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office, ERP, and PLM software.
  • Demonstrated experience with business and technical communication.
  • Proficient in ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering related field
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
  • Proven track record driving products through the whole product development life cycle
  • Proficient in GD&T based on ASME Y14.5.
  • ASQ - Certified Supplier Quality Professional, Certified Quality Engineer, or Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Experience with hands-on inspection or utilizing calibrated inspection tools.
  • Experience leading Lean Manufacturing activities.
  • Experience with (FAA) 14 CFR 21.137 requirements
