- Lead system design and system integration for aircraft, subsystems, and engines
- Define system architectures, interfaces, and requirements for integrated aircraft systems
- Perform system trade studies, safety analyses, and failure mode assessments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a consistent and optimal system design
- Develop and maintain system level design data such as requirements, ICDs, and verification plans
- Generate requirements from customer feedback and business needs
- Decompose requirements and functions from system level down to the component level
- Evaluate the system impacts of requirements changes
- Define verification and validation strategies and plans
- Support testing and validation activities
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and regulatory requirements
- U.S. Person status is required, as this position may access export-controlled data.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering (or equivalent) and at least 6 years demonstrated experience in systems engineering for aircraft, propulsion systems, or similar complex systems.
- Requires demonstrated experience leading the integration of complex systems.
- Strong understanding of aerospace development standards (ARP4754A, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, etc.).
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama, Polarion).
- Familiarity with model based systems engineering (MBSE) best practices.
- Understanding of failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA), functional hazard analyses (FHA), and system safety assessments
- Comfortable working in a rapid development environment with frequent data driven design changes and high levels of ambiguity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- A willingness to work on tasks outside your primary job functions
- Strong understanding of electric propulsion technologies, power distribution, and control systems
- Experience with hybrid-electric or fully electric aircraft systems
- Familiarity with SOLIDWORKS or similar 3D CAD software
- Knowledge of thermal management and energy storage systems
- Background in experimental flight or certification processes
