The Feature Integration team at Zoox is at the forefront of autonomous vehicle technology, driving the definition of vehicle behaviors and interactions of our purpose-built vehicle. Feature Integration Engineers are the champions of a breadth of feature domains across the vehicle, taking ownership of these features across the entire product lifecycle. Responsibilities

  • You will establish and decompose vehicle-level requirements, ensuring clarity and precision in the engineering specifications
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Product, Systems Engineering, and Component-level Engineers, to define and integrate vehicle behaviors and interactions at the vehicle level
  • You will focus on the integration of hardware, firmware, and software to deliver vehicle behaviors and activate product capabilities
  • You will take full ownership of specific feature domains on the vehicle and shepherd these features throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • You will be responsible for conveying technical concepts, facilitating group discussions, and sharing project updates effectively
  • You will deliver presentations that convey findings, progress, and insights to diverse audiences with clarity and impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering
  • At least 7 years of experience
  • Experience writing and decomposing engineering requirements
  • Knowledge of vehicle engineering and/or software development processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex system interactions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to meet deadlines
  • Adept at working cross-functionally and influencing others

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with software development principles
  • Experience in electrical integration, including CAN/LIN system architecture definition and ECUs
  • Prior involvement in HMI projects, showcasing familiarity with user interaction design principles.
  • Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion, DOORS, JAMA, etc).
  • Project management experience.
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $137,000 to $222,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
