As a Chassis Actuators Engineer in the Vehicle Systems Engineering team, you will work across all mechanical, electrical, and software development of a highly integrated Active Suspension System, which includes Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Controls, Electrical, and structural components within the System. You will be part of the passionate team that designs, develops, and validates the system to offer our riders a world-class ride comfort experience.

In this role, you will

  • Own and direct activities across cross-functional teams such as program management, system engineering, manufacturing, and operations to deliver a highly integrated system
  • Design, in CATIA V6, prototype hardware and electromechanical systems
  • Evaluate the static, dynamic, structural, and thermal-mechanical performances of mechanical assemblies
  • Track and approve component and system validation reports in alignment with vehicle attributes
  • Collaborate with suppliers to manage designs and design documents and execute engineering disciplines and component deliveries.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience supporting program planning, development, release process, and supplier quality management
  • Experience with Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical or Controls development for mechatronic systems
  • Experience in vehicle engineering, chassis systems design, and component development for Suspension systems
  • Knowledge of Systems engineering, V-model, Validation methods, product reliability, and Systematic problem-solving techniques.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with suspension, dampers, and vehicle ride dynamics
  • CAN & Network skills
  • Experience at automotive OEM or significant Tier 1
  • Simulink software proficiency and hydraulic system modeling
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $155,000 to $210,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
